MY PARIETAL LOBE

[Parietal lobe] plays important roles in integrating sensory information from various senses, and in the manipulation of objects; portions of the parietal lobe are involved with visuospatial processing.

So this blog is basically where I share my experiences in events that I had been a part of.

I will be describing things based on my senses especially the visual part.

BUBBLY BUBBLES

I ended my day happy-tired last May 19, 2012 when once again, I was able to cosplay. This might be my last time since I decided to pursue my Nursing career after summer vacation.

With KIMSSHI, my group, we cosplayed the infamous POWERPUFF GIRLS. Of course, who doesn’t recognize them? Maybe the very young generation. But I saw and heard some people saying, “OMG! The Powerpuff Girls!” or “PPG, can I take a picture with you girls?”

These questions and sentences I will miss the most. I will for sure miss the limelight.

I will miss the opportunities to perform on stage. Singing and Dancing is really my passion. To see smiles on the faces of the viewers while we are performing —- I will surely cry remembering this.

Let me share some photos from the event.

That’s KIMSSHI posing as Powerpuff Girls (I’m Bubbles). This is funny coz I’m the oldest in our group but I portrayed the cutest member. Well, I like being pacute.

While performing on stage. We performed three songs: Because of You by After School (which we practised the night before), Panaginip by Sheng Belmonte (this is why I like PPOP the most — the song is sooo good!), and Twinkle by Girls Generation TiTaeSeo.

with Daddy Jherben, Marc Melocoton and Lily.

and a picture with my new crush, the little prince, Gerald of Boys Generation PH.

Eating coz it’s hard to take pictures with people when you are hungry.

some gamers playing to win the trip to Boracay with 20k pocket money! (I just hope I know how to play and I can win over them).

And I’m ending this post with our ending pose. :)

TWINKLE TWINKLE little Japan

Today, I’m going to talk about my ANIME/KPOP career.

Yesterday, May 18, 2012, was the AI EXPO’s Karaoke Contest and Battle of the Bands. AI Expo stands for Anijou Iloilo Expo. Anijou is short for Anigumi Joukai. It’s an Anime guild here in Iloilo.

My group, KIMSSHI, are not official members of the guild but we’ve been actively participating in each of their stuff.

Anyway, yesterday, I judged the Karaoke Contest with KIMSSHI (Marianne and Angel — my co-members) and the Battle of the Bands with other Anijou officers who have backgrounds in having a band (well, you may not know but I have a wide background in this area — as in background — my brother and cousins each have bands and I am their fangirl LOL)

My group KIMSSHI also performed Girls Generation TiTaeSeo’s TWINKLE.

it’s us with one of our favorite people in Anijou, Aaron.

KIMSSHI and Marc with our PEPEROs. We had those as food for the judges.

Me and Jillian (my friend from Gleeorious) taking pictures while the famous KR Quinon was talking with his fans.

Me and the famous KR Quinon.

Angel and Marianne posing with their certificates of appreciation. Marianne even got her name wrong :)

Our Daddy Jherben Lagon (Anijou current president) singing with the KUDASAI Band.

Beats by Arts in their intermission number.

And I’ll end this post with my picture holding my Certificate of Appreciation with my FULL NAME on it. It’s just so strange seeing my whole name written on it.

Experiencing UPV Graduation ‘12

Another long introduction.

I am not from University of the Philippines. I am a proud taga-West (a West Visayas State University graduate) from the College of Nursing.

However, I have a number of friends from UP Visayas who I met because of the musical that I was a part of, GLEEORIOUS (not mentioning my friends from the same university who I met because of KPOP and PPOP).

Everyone knows that UP’s tradition is different from any other university in the Philippines.

If I still need to enumerate it. Here it is:

1. Only the professors with such high positions wear TOGA (black toga with light blue stripes).

2. The graduates wear Barong [for the gentlemen] and any ecru colored dress (not sleeveless, not above the knee) [for the ladies].

3. They have the SABLAY which is equivalent to the caps we wear during our graduation.

etc. etc. etc. Just witness a UP graduation for you to find out.

And here are some pictures during the event:

This is where the ceremony was held. Every year they change the graduation venue. This year, it was held in UP Miag-ao Campus.

That’s me and my friend, Melai. She’s one of the graduates. Well, so proud because she really looks sexy in that dress. My tailor did a great job! :) Not to mention that she’s supposed to wear a tiara but was scared to do so. The result, we just put that glittering clip on her hair.

Papul and Melai~ I just adore this picture.

FAMILY SUPPORT is the BEST THING in a student’s life. This is Melai’s family.

The ever “sikat” stage-boyfriend of mine who then became my loving Tatay~~ sa wakas graduate na siya sa elementary, I mean, college! The Godchild, KR Quinon~ with his signature pose. *fans scream*

The very beautiful Jillian Itaas, who will play KIM in Iloilo’s adaption of Miss Saigon this September, and who writes a lot about good food and restaurants in Iloilo. I often visit her blog for updates :)

With Ordisi Osonio, my genius friend, that people always think we are brother-sister everytime they see us in SM City Iloilo together. [Why?]

When friends from the lower years come and congratulate you, this is one hell of a moment to remember… that could, actually, make you cry.

[Me: Why didn’t I blog stuff like this during my graduation 2 years ago?]

A series of Papul-Iveca pictures [SELCA] to end this post. ^___^ camwhores!

This is my fifth time if I’m not mistaken :)
Always, thanks to THE NEWS TODAY writers for always putting my picture in every COSPLAY and KPOP feature.

My Beloved FRIENDSHIPS’ Birthdays!

You know guys, I’m on a diet, but who says NO when it’s FREE? Right?

Today, two of my closest friends celebrated their birthdays. My bestfriend, Jose a.k.a. Uno, and my ex-boyfriend (just pretend —- role playing. not true, okie? he’s gay!), Papul.

The celebration was exclusively for the close friends that they have from GLEEORIOUS (for those who do not know, I’m part of it and I played the role of Tina!)

Since everyone is so busy, only six of us were present (including the celebrants).

We ate in Ramboy’s Molo. It’s one of the restaurants that we used to always go last year after Saturday night’s shows. We haven’t been there again for a while.

(From top left: Papul, Me *Iveca*, Sir Francis, Paz. From bottom right: Uno, Melai)

Of course, we ate a lot. I don’t care if my diet is ruin and I’ll gain more PRESENT (I am talking about my tummy).

LIEMPO

LECHONG MANOK

SISIG (Uno’s favorite —- he always order Sisig in all restaurants as long as it’s in the menu)

FRIED RICE

CHOPSEUY

THE MANGO SHAKE

I forgot to take a picture of the PANCIT that we ate before all our orders came.

Nang Paz came late with a surprise for the celebrants. She brought them CUPCAKES! Letters are written on each cupcake to represent their names.

Then Uno started putting the ICING on our faces. But I manage to control him and he didn’t put anything on my face.

Uno, Papul and Melai posing with their dirty faces. LOL

Sir Francis gift for Papul.

Papul wearing my gift, the PURPLE HEAD DRESS.

After a while, when the rain outside abruptly stopped, we rode a taxi and went to Starbucks.

The SPARKLING NATURAL MINERAL WATER. Uhm.. I couldn’t explain its taste. Try it yourself!

Sharing some pics during the Starbucks TAMBAY.

And that’s the end of it. I hope I could bond with this guys again in the future.

I’ll be separated from them soon. It’s hard to think about it.

Deep Red RUBY —- to invade KPOP

Once again, I’ll start my post with a FACT.

I am a FANGIRL for those who do not know. Basically, I love KPOP.

So this post is KPOP-related but still I’m going to talk about my experience.

SUNDAY —- April 15, 2012.

A new Korean girl group, RUBY, visited SM CITY ILOILO.

They are composed of 5 talented teenagers (who are taller than me). At first, i just knew their names but with the help of my co-members in Iloilo KPOP Organization, I got to know them better.

This is what happened during the entire show.

This is the SM Eco-bag. People should buy this for 35php to get inside the barricade. But yeah, it’s worth it. You can get near the artists and get their signatures. SEE? I got mine!

RUBY during their first stage appearance. They had around 4-5 costume changes that day.

Another costume.

And the cute members are:

SUJIN: she is the leader.

JUYEONG (they sang some songs which my group KIMSSHI also sings in some performances and we always have the same parts)

YESEUL: she’s the FAKE GAIN (of BROWN EYED GIRLS) in one show in KOREA.

SOREE. Her voice is amazing. She exited when the other four members danced SINGLE LADIES by Beyonce coz she needed to change into this outfit to sing a ballad. And I was so happy to hear her sing one of my favorite KPOP ballad songs “SARANG ANHAE” (Love me not) by Baek Ji Young. (I was still in high school when that song caused a stir for having a controversial video).

YUJEONG: I told her she looks like Jewelry’s SEO IN YOUNG coz she really does.

They sang a lot of KPOP Girl Group songs including 2ne1’s Fire, and I don’t Care; Wonder Girls’ Tell Me and Nobody; Brown Eyed Girls’ Abracadabra; KARA’s Step and Mister; Tiara’s Roly Poly and Lovey Dovey; Hyuna’s Change, etc.

We really went out of our seats when they performed BIGBANG’s Fantastic Baby. That was the most awesome thing ever happened on that day.

I am the one in the lower middle (the one in white). They got people to show their KPOP singing and dancing skills. Of course I really joined (not because I have the guts and experiences in performing) coz I know they will give us a free cd… and it will be an addition to my collection. ANGEL - the one beside me in black, our youngest in KIMSSHI, won. Her nickname is “the face of KIMSSHI”. Imagine boys screaming for her everytime she performs (not mentioning making her pic their profile pictures in facebook).

They went down the stage twice. The second time, they got girls to dance with them on stage.

Having the time of my life —- signatures, pictures!

I actually got my CD, and printed pictures of them signed.

Thanks to their friendly managers who remembered me well (since I, and my group, became a front act in their activities before). HY Entertainment CEO Jung Yong Bae even asked me, “Do you remember me?” Of course, I do. He always likes my group pictures in Facebook.

With Miss Bella, one of the producers and the emcee

What is most fun was ILOILO KPOP ORGANIZATION members taking pictures with the artists and staff. But the pics are in the Manager Oppa’s cellphone. No one from the members went down to get some for us. Yet, I am so proud of this org. MORE POWER to us!

“DNR”

Shades of gray on the paper, I draw my heart.

I think it’s no longer beating.

Reality could hurt so much.

Not knowing it would end up like this.

I regret the moments with you that I miss.

I should have treasured you, the time with you.

Now I have to start something new.

Could I ever let go of your hand?

When all those words you said keep coming back to me.

Could I ever let go of the past?

When all around me keep me reminded of you.

Could I ever let go of your hand?

Could I ever let go of your memory?

When it kills me inside.

Even if you’re gone, you’ll still remain in here.

Hardest blow of the wind, it felt so cold without you.

Something in me is lacking.

I feel so empty without you.

Should I take a step and move on?

Memories of you still linger on.

If I could only embrace you one more time.

Just one more time…

[Note: This was my entry during WVSU-CON Songwriting contest 2010 where we won first place and still our entry during WVSU-week which won 3rd place —- this song is for my late grandmother]

A Magical Wedding

For those who do not know, I am a part-time party coordinator. What do I do? I usher guests and etc.

Then let me get it straight, today, I am going to talk about the the Legarde-Jacutin wedding last April 12, 2012.

It was a church wedding (Jaro Cathedral). It started at 3pm.

The principal, secondary, junior sponsors down to the flower girls were dressed in fushchia pink (maybe a little darker than that — i don’t know what kind of pink it is). Anyway, the gown designs were classic and fairytale-like. while men are wearing Barong with shades of pink on it. Too bad I didn’t take pictures of them.

Here is the reception. It’s the old Lopez Mansion but now, it transformed and became NELLY’S GARDEN.

Nelly's Garden Lopez Mansion

The magical effect is the changing of lights for every, I think, 3-5 seconds. Green, Blue, Purple, Pink.

The red carpet where the entourage will pass, the tables, the stage. (This picture was taken while the crew was still fixing stuff)

Me posing inside the ‘horse-drawn carriage-without-a-horse’ while waiting for the guests to arrive.

The peanuts and tart for the cocktail party. (Before the main program, after the church wedding, the cocktail was set for the visitors to somehow relieve their thirst and hunger). I forgot to take pictures of the drinks.

This was their cake. The layers are alternating chocolate and carrot cakes. I enjoyed eating the cake designs after the program. The best part of being a coordinator is the chance of bringing home lots of stuff from the wedding.

I remember the bride saying after the program, “Daw indi ko ipagpaguba ang cake!” (seems like I don’t want to destroy the cake).

When everyone was in and my fellow coordinators lit the fireworks to beautify the sky. (My camera is not good enough for the beauty of the fireworks T_T)

They lit lanterns of different colors and let them freely soar the sky.

The chocolates that I enjoyed eating from the give-aways.

The edible cake designs. Since I don’t like sweet stuff, I think it’ll take ages before I finish eating everything including the slices of cakes that I took home.

Me again posing with the sponsors’ bouquet.

And finally, I would end this post with my most favorite picture of all during that night.

The picture of the bride and groom dancing. For me, this picture is the most magical among all I’ve taken that night because after I took this pic and looked at it, I got goosebumps. It’s like in the movies~ Barbie movies specifically. Her gown is undeniably wonderful plus the effect of the background, lights, etc. Everything in this picture is PERFECT.

At the end of the day, I asked myself once again. “What would my wedding look like?”

^_^
